Property Accessibility Statement

Our B&B is a historic home built in 1846. Because of its age and original architecture, it was not designed with modern accessibility standards in mind, but we’re committed to making your stay as comfortable as possible! We are always happy to discuss specific needs with you if you’re unsure whether our space will be a good fit for your stay.

Getting around

The property has some stairs and uneven transitions, including several steps from the parking area to the front porch, and additional steps up onto the porch and into the home. Our interior doorways and thresholds are standard for a historic home and may include small transitions between rooms and flooring surfaces. Once inside, our parlor and dining room are located on the first floor. As with many historic homes, sound can carry between rooms. We have nightlights placed throughout the building to help folks get around in the evenings.

Emergencies

Our main fire alarms will flash in an emergency. We do not have a full modern assistive alert system in place throughout the building or in individual bedrooms.

Bedrooms

Our bedrooms have interior doorways and thresholds typical of a historic home. For guests who have mobility considerations or prefer to minimize stairs, we recommend our first-floor bedroom, Heron, which is located on the same level as the parlor and dining room. While we don’t have specialized assistive equipment for bed access, we’re happy to provide a stepstool upon request to make your stay more comfortable.

Bathrooms

Our bathrooms are traditional residential-style bathrooms. We have a set of portable grab bars available upon request.

Other accommodations

We provide written instructions for check-in to make things easier for all of our guests, including those with hearing impairments. You’ll also find a welcome sheet in your room with information about how to make your room more comfortable, where to find things you might need, and how to reach us. We’re happy to connect with you at any time via phone call, email or text.

We’re always working to make our property more inclusive and welcoming. If you have specific accessibility needs or questions, please reach out prior to booking so we can help ensure the space will be a comfortable fit for your stay!
